Taylor Morrison Bringing 161 New Rental Homes to Easton Park
Could this development benefit homeowners—or create new challenges for local landlords?

The Development
Easton Park continues to grow, and Taylor Morrison is bringing its Yardly build-to-rent community to Southeast Austin.
The project will introduce 161 purpose-built rental homes, with construction expected to begin in November 2026, leasing anticipated in late 2027, and completion projected for 2029.
This marks Yardly's fourth Austin-area project as Easton Park continues its expansion toward approximately 11,000 residential units.
But what does this mean for homeowners, buyers, and investors?
My Take
As someone who follows South Austin's real estate market closely, I'm cautiously optimistic about what Yardly could bring to Easton Park.
Taylor Morrison is a well-established homebuilder with a reputation for thoughtful residential design. While details on finishes, floor plans, and amenities haven't been released, I'm encouraged by the potential for an attractive, professionally managed rental community that complements the neighborhood.
What About Property Values?
I don't anticipate 161 rental homes dramatically changing property values on their own.
In fact, there's a potential upside. Renters who experience Easton Park's lifestyle and amenities firsthand may eventually become homeowners in the community, creating another source of future buyer demand.
A well-designed, well-maintained development could ultimately strengthen the neighborhood's appeal.
Landlords: More Competition Is Coming
For existing Easton Park landlords, however, this development deserves attention.
Adding 161 professionally managed rental homes introduces new competition. If Yardly offers attractive amenities, competitive pricing, or leasing incentives, individual landlords may need to adjust their expectations.
My advice? Don't assume yesterday's rental rates will hold tomorrow.
Now is a good time to evaluate your property's rental performance, equity, and long-term investment strategy.
For some owners, holding will remain the right decision. For others, exploring a sale may make more financial sense.
What's Next?
I'll be following Yardly as more details emerge about home designs, square footage, rental pricing, amenities, and potential incentives.
As Easton Park continues to evolve, I'll share updates on what these developments mean for homeowners, buyers, and investors.
Stay connected for more Easton Park updates.
